The Signing Ceremony of the Grassroots Grant Assistance Project for Improvement of Water Supply System in Nadau village

The Government of Japan extended grant assistance totaling US$20,169(Approx.RM64,600) to the Project for Improvement of Water Supply System in Nadau village. Mr. Hirofumi MORIKAWA, Head of Consular office of Japan, signed on behalf of the Government of Japan.

The grant will be used for gravity-flow water supply system in Nadau village whidh is lacated in the district of Tuaran, in order to improve the living conditions of people in this community.The project will be implemented by Adventist Development and Relief Agancy Sabah(ADRA SABAH).

  The Government of Japan extends financial assistance to the development projects to meet the diverse needs of the people in developing countries through the scheme of grant assistance. Known as the Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP), this scheme supports the project proposed by non-governmental organizations (NGOs), hospitals, primary schools, vocational training Centre and other nonprofit associations. The GGP has acquired an excellent reputation for providing flexible and timely support to development projects at the grass-roots level.

Since 1996, under the GGP, the Government of Japan has extended the assistance in Sabah with 30 small-scale but socially and economically important projects amounting to approximately RM 3.2 million in total.
