The Signing of the Grant Contract regarding Grassroots
Grant Assistance Project for Purchasing Vehicle for Welfare Facilities in Tuaran

The Government of Japan extended grant up to US$33,734 to
the project for purchasing vehicle for the welfare facilities in Tuaran. The grant contract between the Embassy of
Japan and the Sabah Society for the Blind was signed on 21st January 2015 at
Consular office of Japan in Kota kinabalu.
The grant will be used for purchase of a vehicle(van) that will benefit the blind and visually
impaired people who use the welfare facilities managed by the Sabah Society for
the Blind.
Since 1996, under the Grassroots Grant Assistance,
the Government of Japan has extended the assistance in Sabah with 34
small-scale but socially and economically important projects amounting to
approximately RM 3.6 million in total.
