Project for Improvement of Water Supply System in Nadau Village

The Government of Japan extended grant
assistance totaling US$20,169(Approx.RM64,500) to the
Project for Nadau Village.The
grant was used for establishment of Water Supply System in Nadau
Village near Tuaran town by Adventist Development and
Relief Agency Sabah(ADRA Sabah)
The project has been completed recently
with the support by villagers.The hand-over ceremony
of the project was held at Nadau village on February
12.
The Government of Japan extends financial
assistance to the development projects to meet the diverse needs of the people
in developing countries through the scheme of grant assistance. Known as the
Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP), this scheme
supports the project proposed by non-governmental organizations (NGOs),
hospitals, primary schools, vocational training Centre and other nonprofit
associations. The GGP has acquired an excellent reputation for providing
flexible and timely support to development projects at the grass-roots level.
Since 1996, under the GGP, the Government
of Japan has extended the assistance in Sabah with 34 small-scale but socially
and economically important projects amounting to approximately RM 3.6 million
in total.
