Temporary Changes in Consular Services from 23 to 31 March 2020 (Revision of Operational Hours and Processing Times)

In response to the Movement Control Order announced by the Prime Minister of Malaysia on 16 March, the following changes will be implemented to Consular Services from 23 to 31 March 2020.

It is regrettable that any inconvenience may occur and we seek your kind understanding during this difficult times.
Please note that the following changes might be extended depending on Malaysian Government decision on the period of Movement Control Order.

  1. Changes in Operating Hours of Consular Services (Passport, Certificate, Family Registration, Overseas Voting, Visa Application and etc)
     Change to: 9:30 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 15:00
     Previously: 8:30 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 16:00

  1. Working Days required for Issuance of Passport and Certificate

        Change to: 3 working days (Example: Apply on Monday → Collect on Wednesday)
        Previously: 2 working days (Example: Apply on Monday → Collect on Tuesday)
  1. Working days required for Issuance of Visa:
     Change to: Malaysian (3 working days), Non Malaysian Nationals (4 working days)
     Previously: Malaysian (2 working days), Non Malaysian Nationals (3 working days)
From 19 to 31 March 2020, we will only accept visa applications from:
  1. Malaysians & non- Malaysian Nationals with Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
  2. Diplomatic and Official Visa
  3. Those who need special consideration for humanitarian purposes
Please note that all visa applications for short term visit within 90 days (such as tourism, business meeting, visiting family & relatives) will be suspended!
