Japanese Cultural Night (Bon Odori) 2017

As part of the 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Malaysia, the 9th Japanese Cultural Night (Bon Odori) co-hosted by the Consular Office of Japan in Kota Kinabalu and the Japanese Cultural Club of Universiti Malaysia Sabah was attended by approximately 1,000 participants from all over Kota Kinabalu, including university students and local residents under the presence of Ambassador Dr. Miyagawa.
Besides Bon dance with all the participants, there were also dances performed by the Japanese School students as well as demonstrations by Japanese martial art organizations (Aikido and Shourinji Kenpo), there were many stalls and booths, and even a tea ceremony presentation by the Japan Club volunteers.
The Consular Office also had a booth at the event which introducing traditional Japanese toys and origami.
