The 13th Japanese Cultural Night (Bon Odori) 2023 Event Report

○Venue: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (Padang Kawad)
The Japanese Cultural Night (Bon Odori) organised by the Japanese Cultural Club (JCC) of University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) attracted 1,200 visitors, including UMS students and the general public.
This was the 13th time this event was held, and in addition to the Bon Odori dance with participation by all, dances by students of the Japanese School of Kota Kinabalu, and popular Japanese dances performed by JCC members, there were many food stalls and exhibition booths, including calligraphy by Japanese resident volunteers, traditional games, and etc.
Our office also set up a booth at the event to introduce Japanese culture and Japanese origami. Origami was a great success, with many people trying it out for themselves.
