Greetings from the Head of Consular Office Nakasuji

2026/4/1
Head of Consular Office Mr. Nakasuji
I am Hisaki Nakasuji, newly appointed Head of the Consular Office of Japan in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.

I understand Sabah, Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan, which fall under our jurisdiction, are renowned for their rich natural environment and resources, as well as for being regions where diverse ethnic communities coexist in harmony.

Economic and cultural exchanges between Japan and these regions have been steadily expanding, with numerous Japanese companies contributing to the development of the area. Moreover, mutual understanding and friendship continue to be promoted through tourism, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
Our Consular Office is committed not only to ensuring the safety of Japanese nationals residing in the region but also to strengthening the ties between Japan and these regions and further contributing to the local community.

I have previously served in the Philippines and Thailand, making this my third assignment within the ASEAN region. Drawing on my past experience, I will endeavor to build further trusting relationships with local communities and to make our Consular Office a valuable resource for Japanese nationals living here.

I kindly ask for your continued support and cooperation for the Kota Kinabalu Consular Office, and I wish you all good health and happiness.
