On 10th September, Head of Consular Office of Japan in Kota Kinabalu Nakasuji received a courtesy visit from representatives of  PAMAJA Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan, the alumni body of JICA Youth Training Program in Japan, which was  implemented as the Friendship Program for the 21st Century (*).

They discussed the possibility of future collaboration, such as planning cultural exchange events.

(*) Friendship Program for the 21st Century : Then-Prime Minister Nakasone proposed this initiative, during his official visit to ASEAN countries in May 1983, aiming at fostering friendly and cooperative relations by inviting young people who would shape the future of their countries to Japan for a period of approximately one month. Having secured the support of the participating countries, the program was launched in 1984, initially targeting ASEAN countries, and had since progressively expanded to include additional countries and regions.
