On the 3rd of November, the Government of Japan announced the recipients of decorations for the 2025 Autumn Imperial Conferment. Among the recipients, following is the dignitary within the area of jurisdictions of the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia and the Consular Office of Japan in Kota Kinabalu, who received decoration for his outstanding contributions to Japan-Malaysia relationship:

Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri has been a driving force in promoting economic and energy cooperation between Japan and Sarawak, particularly in renewable energy fields such as hydrogen and ammonia. Under his leadership, Sarawak has deepened collaboration with leading Japanese companies, contributing to Japan’s energy transition and long-term energy security through the stable supply of LNG. He has also played a key role in advancing environmental partnerships, including reforestation and biodiversity conservation projects involving Japanese universities and organizations.
